RC Cleaner/HFE

The ideal precision cleaning system for electronics, optics and fine mechanics using HFE and PFAS-free low-boiling solvents.

Application:
The RC-Cleaner precision cleaning system stands for particle-free cleaning and residue-free drying of electronic assemblies, optical glasses and lenses, metal parts, implants, and plastic components.

Based on assembly size and throughput, individual customer-specific solutions are required.

Precision cleaning agent HFE

For the cleaning of sensitive materials and within particularly narrow cavities (e.g. underneath soldered PCB components), hydrofluoroethers (HFE) were developed as a replacement for CFCs, HCFCs, or similar solvents. HFE are non-flammable liquids that are especially suitable for precision cleaning with spotless drying. They also open up new opportunities for precision cleaning in the fields of electronics, mechanics, and optics. Despite 3M’s discontinuation of the Novec series, we can continue to provide equivalent solvents. We are also well prepared for the impending PFAS ban.

The use of HFE is legally permitted as long as emissions do not exceed an average mass flow of 30 g/h. The RC Cleaner precision cleaning systems, based on the co-solvent/HFE process, reduce emissions through sophisticated temperature management to the legally required level of below 30 g/h.

Principle:

The cleaning of products takes place in an immersion cleaning system using HFE and a co-solvent.

Through sophisticated heating and cooling technology, ultrasound, and/or pressure flooding – including the option for automation and buffer sections – excellent cleaning quality, high process reliability and user-friendly operation are achieved.

Continuous distillation for solvent recovery completes the process. This enables precision particle cleaning across a wide range of applications and makes the use of this system attractive for numerous fields of application.
